Biography
Kostis Polydorou is an alto & tenor saxophonist, an educator and a composer who lives in Utrecht. He studied jazz saxophone at the Ionian Univercity.
He has been playing for more than 20 years
Kostis an astute musician, a versatile saxophonist who has played in various contexts and is at home with jazz. His sound is distinctive with an intense level of heartfelt expression. He is an adventurous improviser with a great sense of emotion which is portrayed in his playing.
The nature of his musical influences derive from the great masters, namely Charlie Parker, Paul Desmond and Jan Garbarek all of whom he has studied extensively.
Born in Greece he creates a melodic sound, fusion of bebop language and mediterranean heritage
